ITINERARY
1st day Individual arrival in Fiuggi Welcome drink at the hotel. Possibility to make a nice ride in Fiuggi
2nd day Fiuggi –
the Cesanese roads – Fiuggi ca. 38 Km, 600 m difference in altitude Panoramic tour at the foot of the Simbruini Mountains. After a gentle ascent of 4 km you will reach over 900 m above sea level and then go down admiring the formidable panorama of the Arcinazzo plateaus. After another short stretch slightly uphill, you descend towards the picturesque village of Piglio, the land of Cesanese red wine. A break to taste a glass is highly recommended. The return to Fiuggi is along the cycle path built on the old Rome-Fiuggi railway, gentle difference in height and pleasant climb
3rd day Fiuggi – the lake of Canterno and Fumone – Fiuggi ca. 35 Km, 653 m difference in altitude Delicious tour around Lake Canterno, the largest in the area and home to a wonderful nature reserve. Going up to Fumone, you face the valley of the Sacco river; do not miss the characteristic donuts and the good ratafìa (sour cherry liqueur) to be enjoyed in the shadow of the medieval castle, home of the highest hanging garden in Europe.After descending from the village, you will immerse yourself in the colorful plain on the eastern shore of the lake and then return to the hotel in peace
4th day Fiuggi – Anagni – Fiuggi ca. 51 Km, 693 m difference in altitude
The goal of the day is to reach the medieval city of Anagni, famous for having been the residence of numerous Popes. You ride through the vineyards of Cesanese red wine, the opportunity to taste a delicious aperitif in the beautiful town square while admiring the valley below. The return, along a pleasant climb surrounded by greenery, leads you to Fiuggi, to enjoy a well-deserved rest
5th day Fiuggi – Rome ca. 55 Km, 250 m difference in altitude
Through the Fiuggi-Paliano cycle path, you descend to an altitude of 150 m a.s.l. After a passage along a suggestive white road, we head towards the city of Colleferro. Then go up to the van to reach the entrance of the Appia Antica, the road that leads directly in front of the Colosseum
Day 6 Rome, free day or bike tour of Rome approx. 20 Km
7th day Rome. End of trip after breakfast
